FAQs

  • Once you’ve chosen your favorite images, now you need to choose the right material for your space.

Consider the lighting in that space. For preserving the artwork, it’s best to choose a space that won’t allow direct sunlight on the artwork. Direct sunlight will fade anything over time; artwork isn’t immune to this phenomenon.

For areas with stronger or more direct indoor lighting, consider matte surfaces like canvas, metal print, or Hahnemühle Museum Etching fine art paper.

For areas with indirect or softer lighting, glossy surfaces can be a great option. While these are more susceptible to reflections and glare, the trade-off is that they provide higher contrast and richer colors. Choose acrylic, gallery print matte or glossy, or Hahnemühle Baryta fine art paper.

For a modern decor, select metal print, acrylic, or gallery print.

For a more traditional look, select one of the fine art papers or photo poster and have it framed by your local framing professional.

  • For metal prints, acrylic, and gallery prints I recommend either the aluminum subframe or gallery aluminum subframe.

For canvas wraps, a professional suspension option is available. This allows you to use hooks, screws, or nails to hang your artwork.

For fine art and photo prints, I recommend ordering the print size you want and working with your local framing professional to get exactly the framing, fit, and finish to meet your needs. While this is a bit more expensive than the do-it-all shops on the internet, in my experience you will be much happier with the end result and will save quite a bit in shipping costs and potential issues with shipping damages to the frame.

  • In short, no. There are a few things at play here. First, your monitor is directing light at your eyes; whereas, any artwork is reflecting light towards your eyes. This alone can make it look slightly different. Secondly, every type of screen displays colors a little differently and are set up differently by the manufacturer.

As an artist, it is very important to me to reproduce my work as accurately as possible. As such, I have dedicated hardware and software to calibrate my monitors, so that they produce as much of the color spectrum as necessary, and as accurately as they are capable. In addition, my print partner provides color profiles for each artwork medium I offer. This allows me to softproof the images before I submit them to the lab. This provides the most consistent and dependable way to ensure that what you get is aligned with my intentions as an artist.

  • This is a personal decision that must take into account the location where you choose to mount the artwork and the viewing distance. For distances greater than 8 feet, consider choosing a size no smaller than 24 x 36. In my primary living room, the typical viewing distance is 9 to 10 feet, and I chose 30 x 45 as the ideal size.

For a small office where the distance might be shorter, a smaller size of 16 x 24 or 20 x 30 might be the right choice.

Spend a few moments to measure the typical viewing distance to your ideal location for your new art and compare a few sizes with a tape measure. The extra effort now will be worth it.

  • This is custom artwork. As such, each item is created by a professional print technician after you place your order. Please allow a few business days for production time, and then 3-5 business days for shipping. You will typically receive your artwork within 2 weeks after you place your order. There may be peak order times for my print partner, especially around holidays, where extra time might be needed.

Wall Art Information

  • Metal Prints

This is a very durable medium for fine art. It offers rich colors and very fine detail, yet with its matte finish it controls glare and reflections very well. If you’re not quite sure if you’ll be able to control glare from light sources, this is a very fine choice.

Available in sizes up to 48” wide

Suitable for damp rooms and high temperatures

Hanging options available for Metal Print:

  • Acrylic

Acrylic prints offer very rich colors and a depth to the image that just can’t be matched. The trade-off is that they are very glossy and prone to glare and reflections. Choose this medium if you have more control over the lighting in your living space so you can enjoy the depth and rich colors this medium offers.

Available in sizes up to 24” wide

Not recommended for damp rooms or high temperatures.

    Hanging options available for Acrylic:

  • Photo Canvas

    Photo Canvas

This medium offers low glare and beautiful colors. It has a more traditional look of fine art. The printed canvas is stretched by hand over a real wooden frame. You can choose between a 0.8 or 1.58 in frame to give your canvas additional character.

For the 0.8 in frame you can choose if you would like edge mirroring or not. However, due to its thickness and to avoid losing important picture elements, the 1.58 in frame only has the edge mirroring option.

Available in sizes up to 45” wide

Not recommended for damp rooms or high temperatures.

Hanging options available for Photo Canvas:

  • Gallery Print Matte

The combination of direct printing on acrylic and a reinforcing aluminum plate creates a unique effect. Additionally, the Gallery Print offers the highest resolution and maximum sharpness. With the Gallery Print, you benefit from the best properties of both materials: your photo has staggering brilliance and depth and is also durable and inherently stable.

Available in sizes up to 48” wide

Not recommended for damp rooms or high temperatures.

Choose matte for a surface more forgiving of glare and reflections, with slightly less saturated colors.

  • Photo in a Changeable Frame

We present a highly durable, flexible and practical frame design that adapts to any space. The frame is easily disassembled, so you can change the inside photo as many times as you want.

The Changeable Frame is made out of resilient aluminum, providing a clean design, ideal for any home. It also makes a sustainable alternative for a professional gallery presentation or any similar art installation. Your image will only be covered by approximately 6 mm of frame all around.

A frame to keep your pictures safe. Your image is protected on the front by a stable and transparent acrylic sheet. Behind your photo we place an aluminum composite plate to ensure that none of your pictures get damaged.

On the artwork purchase page for each image, I offer 4 choices of papers. I highly recommend the Hahnemühle Museum Etching paper. More detailed information on the papers can be found below.

Fine Art Prints and Photo Poster Information

  • Fine Art Print on Hahnemühle Museum Etching Paper

Museum Etching is a natural white cotton art paper with an inkjet coating specially optimized for fine art printing. Combined with the pure cotton base, this creates a wonderfully soft tactile feel and artistic impression. The surface retains a very high level of detail, while also virtually eliminating glare and reflections. I highly recommend this paper for most lighting situations.

    100% cotton

    Finely textured surface

    Acid- and lignin-free

ISO 9706 conformity / museum quality for highest age resistance

Available in sizes up to 41” wide

  • Fine Art Print on Hahnemühle Baryta Paper

Another fine art paper from Hahnemühle. It is particularly suited for B&W and rich color photography due to its high color density, sharpness and smooth gradations. With the high-gloss surface, it is a perfect alternative to matte papers. Note that it cannot control glare as well as the Museum Etching paper; however, it does produce richer colors.

    Material: 100% α-cellulose

    Acid- and lignin-free: Yes

ISO 9706 conformity / museum quality for highest age resistance

Available in sizes up to 41” wide

  • Photo Poster Fujifilm Crystal Archive DP II Professional Matte

This is a traditional sliver halide photo paper designed for the latest digital printing technology. Fujifilm Crystal Archive DPII Digital Professional Paper is a photo paper with particularly high strength and a thicker base material. It was developed especially for high-quality digital enlargements such as placards or posters.

The classic matte offers excellent color reproduction, high sharpness and a high D-max value for deep blacks.

Available in sizes up to 41” wide

The information Fuji provides on this paper indicates that it is designed for shorter to medium longevity as compared to the Hahnemühle fine art papers printed with archival pigment inks. I’m offering these to provide a lower-priced alternative with outstanding image quality, but please note that despite the name, this paper medium isn’t designed to last as long as the Hahnemühle fine art papers. Consider these shorter term investments (think 15-25 years).

  • Photo Poster Fujifilm Crystal Archive DP II Professional Glossy

Our classic poster captivates with its shiny surface, and impressive color performance, which reflects your photos both brightly and realistically.

The gloss photo poster is ideal for color photographs, as their vibrant tones are particularly effective. Black and white photographs also produce excellent results on this poster.
